Oregon Archives Crawl – Frequently Asked Questions

Who can attend the Oregon Archives Crawl?
Anyone. Everyone. Bring your kids. Bring your parents. Bring your neighbors. This event is free and open to the public.

Can I bring my pet?
No. We love animals too, but animals and archives are not great companions.

I’ve been meaning to do research on my family/house/neighborhood/etc. Can you help me?
Sure! Take some time to chat with any one of the representatives from 30 different Oregon archives that will be on-hand to discuss your research and help you decide where to start.

Will I be able to research during the event?
No, this event is about celebrating archives, raising awareness about local resources and talking to local archivists about your interests and questions about research. You can get a taste of what is possible so you can plan future research visits.

Where can I park?
There is street parking, surface lots and several parking garages in the area. There is no designated parking area. Each of the host locations is also easily accessible by Tri-Met bus or train (http://trimet.org/#/planner).

Will the Oregon Archives Crawl happen again next year?
The Oregon Archives Crawl is organized and run by volunteers with the goal of hosting it every other year.
